17.03.07 - Meat Raffle
March Meat Raffle with Ebony Bones and John et Jehn
It's pretty rare that we put on a band twice at Meat Raffle, but last November's Ebony Bones performance was so good it left us with no alternative. Ex-soap superstar Ebony and her Rat Scabies-endorsed gang will be back with us again in March with another day-glo primal punk explosion! Another chance to see London's most talked about band for free.
Support comes from John and Jehn. Influenced by Serge Gainsbourg, The Velvet Underground, Gang of Four, Joy Division, Johnny Cash, their music is a shambolic collection of sonic experiments in space, carried by dark humour and pulsing melodies. Having given up their livelihoods, John et Jehn are currently locked in a room in London's suburbia surrounded by piles of recording equipment and various musical toys.
As ever, the Meat Raffle Soundsystem, consisting of Meaty Milan, 16oz Stewart and Baby Face Dave will be filling in the gaps.

BAF need drummers
We're looking for a live drummer. Anyone want to be our live drummer? Now we're doing a bit bigger gigs, we'd love someone to accompany our drum machines and make lots of noise and make us look like a proper band.
You don't have to be fantastic at drumming and rolls and stuff, but you probably need to be able to play well to a click, since you'll be playing along to the drum machine. Also, you wouldn't need to play EVERY gig, so it probably won't take up LOADS of your time [you know, if you're in another band or something]
Also, if you know a cool drummer, tell them..

Vice are looking for an intern
We have a general intern’s position available here at Vice. There will be no specific focus on editorial / fashion / photography but some skills in these areas are always welcome.
The job starts on Monday (full time 3 months min). You need to ideally be aged between 20-25, live in London, be very organised, and extremely reliable (i.e. are willing to come in every day on time).

HELLO my name is scooter, graphic designer at SUPERSUPER I am looking for one (two if possible) design assistance for the next issue (issue 6). The role will require some one whos got da photoshop skillz. the role will hold quite a responsibility, as the work I require the assistant to do, is the work that needs to be done to enable me to do my job and then Steve (creative director and all over Super king) to put his finishing touch onto my work.

Slash/ this month will be PROM NIGHT!
So girls get out your finest dresses, and guys dust down your tux and cumberband and pick up a corsarge, whatever that may be.
Live prom music will be provided by the rather fantastic all girl synth pop trio The Duloks. If you haven't heard them by now what the dickens have you been doing?!
As usual Slash/ residents will also be on hand to provide a selection of power ballads and synth pop befitting prom night which may or may not include Alphaville's 'Forever Young'. As well as the usual ragtaggery or no wave club classic punk rock floorfillers.
As its prom night i may throw some free drink tokens your way if you do any of the following:
1) dress in a bright blue or orange tuxedo á la jeff daniels and jim carey in dumb and dumber.
2) arrive in a hired limo
3) just make an effort and look rather good
